Biography
My name is Ahmed Siad and I go to Edmonton Islamic School. I am in grade 9 and have loved computers, programming, and math for years. I started making simple programs with Javascript and C# two years ago. Additionally, math has been my favourite subject for years. In grade 5, I won top in Alberta in the Mathematica Centrum Math contest, and for the past 4 years, I have gotten top in my school. For my project, I plan on getting a patent for the innovation, and eventually, sell it commercially. Then I'd like to further develop my ideas to make life easier for everyone.

Eyes for the Blind
Challenge:Innovation
Category:Intermediate
Region:Edmonton
City:Edmonton, AB
School:Edmonton Islamic School
Abstract:I invented a sensory device that calculates how far the nearest object is and based on that distance, it vibrates at varying speeds. This is to help blind or visually impaired people be more independent and be more aware of their surroundings. It is fairly inexpensive to produce so that those who need it do not have to go great lengths to afford it.
