| Hi, my name is Isabella Isbester. I'm 14 and in grade nine. This is my first year doing science fair. My project is on Sunflower Seed Germination. I chose this because I was very interested in this section of science. I also do a lot of sports so I wanted to do something different. I swim competitively out of the Belleville Youth Swim Team. I swim 12 hours a week and twice on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am very excited to be competing in the Canadian Wide Science Fair. |

Sunflower Seed Germination – or, Three’s Company, Four’s a Crowd

Seeds and the plants that they become, release hormones when growing. The release of these hormones lets other seeds and plants know that they have competition and that they need to start growing quickly. |
