Abstract:I grew potato plants in test tubes, adding a different substance to the medium (sugar, salt, coffee and tea.) I wanted to see the effects of different chemicals (i.e., carbohydrate on plant growth). Plants in the sugar medium grew the best because sugar is a carbohydrate and that's what plants use for food.
