Hi, my name is Abby Falkenham. I am 13 years old and a grade 8 student at Bedford Academy in Bedford, Nova Scotia. My hobbies consist of playing competitive sports such as basketball, ringette, and soccer. I also participate and represent my school in sports such as cross-country, volleyball, hockey, curling, and track and field. I love competing in sports and being active, winning the female athlete of the year award at my school last year. I also play the violin in my school band. I got my inspiration for my project because the topic of pedestrian safety is very prominent in the media and affects almost everyone, yet is not paid much attention to. I hope the data collected in my project can be taken into account in a strategy to make roads safer and put pedestrians first. My advice for doing a project is to do something that you are passionate about, and something that can make a difference. This is my first CWSF experience and I am very excited! |
