| My name is Emily Robb. I am in the ninth grade at Vincent Massey High School, located in Brandon, Manitoba. I would love to endeavour in a career related to both agriculture and science, heavily related to plant life. Besides science, I enjoy playing multiple musical instruments, such as the alto saxophone. I also participate in ringette, curling, and softball. I have been playing ringette for 9 years, being a goalie for 7. In relation to this project, I'm very interested in environmental stewardship, sustainability, and any sort of flora. By heading in a direction similar to my project in 2017 and incorporating relevant ideas, I was able to create my current scheme in which I introduce various areas of personal interest. Within the near future, I will be implementing this project into the surrounding Manitoban landscape, as it has been deemed effective and I can begin to decrease probable eutrophication. I have participated in science fairs for 9 years, and this will be my second time at CWSF. Science has had an extremely positive effect on my life and I strongly encourage anyone to engage in science fair. The opportunities that coincide with it are incredible, such as CWSF. |

It Must Be Something in the Water: Reducing Nutrient Levels in Water Sustainably

The goal of this project is to find a plant/crop that is more effective at removing nitrogen and phosphorus from water than other species. The result is a sustainable alternative that uses water, victimized by agricultural runoff, to grow food and limit eutrophication. |
