Biographie
My name is Lena Chown and I am from Iqaluit, Nunavut. I am currently enrolled in grade nine at Inukshuk High School. This was my first time participating in a science fair and I am happy to have been chosen to represent Nunavut at this national competition. I have grown up in Iqaluit though my parents are originally from Fredericton, NB. My favourite school subjects are math and science. I play many sports including; curling, swimming and dance. I enjoy spending my Saturday’s volunteering as a junior coach for the local gymnastics club. I love to read and draw. I am an aspiring Marine Biologist and have attended Whale Camp the last two summers in Grand Manan, New Brunswick.

Sommaire:For our project we studied Iqaluit’s water. We wanted to find what amounts of certain chemicals were in the water and whether they varied from different sources. We were interested in this topic because the water around Iqaluit has different tastes. We tested four different sources of water; Frobisher Bay, piped water, trucked water and water from our school fountain.
