David - The concept of neural networks just seemed very interesting, I guess. We wanted to learn about how to use them, how they worked, and we wanted to see what they could do. For further investigation, I wonder if it's possible to have it classify a text as specific authors based on writing style. That would be interesting. Advice is kinda just play around. See what works and doesn't. Something oughta.
Matvey - I am a grade 11 student who is very interested in computer science (and am planning to pursue it in post-secondary). I worked with my partner David Basil to learn about and apply neural networks. For this project we wanted to learn about and figure out how smarter data completion might occur (data completion not using guessing or simple means). We used several machine learning concepts (with neural networks being our biggest one) to classify text based on its creation date. We would like to see what we can do with the experience gained from this project in the future.

Sommaire:We used machine learning to create a system that could classify text by the date that it was published. We tried to use various methods, including CNN's, Linear and logistic regression, support vector machines, MLPs, and Convolutional Neural Networks, and tested for which was best.
