Biographie
My name is Jaime Fletcher and I'm a student from Highview P.S. in Pembroke, Ontario. My schedule is packed from the time I wake up to when I go to bed, this is because I tryout for all the sports teams, try my hardest in all my classes and I'm also a competitive member of the Vikings Volleyball team, Pembroke United soccer team and Club Mont Ste-Marie ski team. Before I arrive at CWSF I will be attending a mini University course called Jedi Mind Tricks for a week at Ottawa U, I'm really excited to learn more about the human mind. I enjoy school especially math and science! My science fair project "Sights Unseen" investigates if age, gender and/or personality type affects the occurrence of Inattentional Blindness. I got the idea while watching some YouTube videos and came across an Inattentional Blindness test, which I thought was really cool and wanted to know more about. Inattentional Blindness is a growing concern in everyday life, I would like to further investigate a way to counteract the Phenomenon. Some advice I would give is Science Fairs are all about learning and the experience, it doesn't matter how far you make it.

Sights Unseen: Investigating the Phenomenon of Inattentional Blindness

Région:Renfrew County

Sommaire:Just because your eyes are open doesn’t mean you are seeing everything around you. We may fail to notice an important object or event in our environment because our attention is directed elsewhere. When this happens we are demonstrating a phenomenon referred to as “Inattentional Blindness.” In my project "Sights Unseen" I investigate whether age, gender and/or personality type influences the occurrence of Inattentional Blindness.
