| My name is Tanner Eckersley. I am 14 years old and live in the small town of Cranbrook, British Columbia with my older sister, my parents, and my dog, Molly. I have been participating in science fairs since I was 7 years old. Last year was my first CWSF in Ottawa, and I am excited to return to CWSF in Frederiction this year with my experiment on Post Traumatic Vision Syndrome and Vision Therapy. This year my project is very personal, as I am determined to solve my vision issues after suffering a traumatic brain injury four years ago. In my spare time I love to mountain bike, play volleyball and basketball, ski, and generally enjoy being outdoors and playing sports. In the future I plan to have a career in athletic therapy or neurology. |

Vision Therapy and Post Traumatic Vision Syndrome

This is called ocular flutter. Under the direction of a medical specialist I used a neuroplasticity visual training program called Neurotracker to attempt to decrease my ocular flutter allowing me to read for longer than 31 seconds. |
