I am a grade 9 student at Bert Bowes Junior High in Ft St John, BC. I play the flute and the piano. I spend many hours playing these instruments. They help me relax. Soccer and badminton are the sports I enjoy the most and play on community and school teams. I have participated in science fairs since I was in Grade One. This will be my third Canada-Wide Science Fair. I have won the Michael Smith Award and the Pulp and Paper Award at previous Canada-Wides. I have also won several awards at the Regional Science Fairs. |

Division: | Engineering & Computing Sciences / None | Category: | Intermediate | Region: | Northern British Columbia | City: | Charlie Lake, BC | School: | Bert Bowes Jr Secondary | Abstract: | Climate change is in the news daily. Local ‘old timers’ speak about winter temperatures of –60 C or worse, yet I have not experienced those temperatures in my lifetime. In my experiment, I set out to determine if climate change had occurred in the Peace River area of British Columbia and what affect it was having on the Lodgepole Pine trees in this area. |
