HAVE A SCHOOL SCIENCE FAIR!

 

Having a school science fair will give your students the opportunity to develop an interest in the field of science, while improving their knowledge and skills. The students with the top projects of your school science fair can be entered into The Bison Regional Science Fair held on April 12, 2017, where they will compete with students from all over Central Manitoba for numerous awards and cash prizes. In addition, the students with the winning   projects at the Bison Regional Science Fair will receive an all expenses paid trip to the Canada Wide Science Fair which will be held in Regina, SK May 14 - 20, 2017. This week long event gives participants    the   opportunit to   compete for    close to $1,000,000 in cash prizes, scholarships, and special awards!

                                                  Bison Regional Science Fair Tentative Schedule

                                                   Holy Cross School (300 Dubuc Street)

                                                   Schedule for Presenters/Teachers/Visitors

                                                             April 11th - 12th, 2017

Parking is free at the school parking lot. Side streets may be used for two hours parking.

                                                          Tuesday April 11th, 2017 

1.  Safety check up, display and pictures 12:30—4:30 PM

2.   Peer Presentations 4:30-5:30 PM (For grade 7 & 8 only)

                                                             Wednesday April 12th, 2017

     Judging: 9:00-11:30 AM

 Medals & Special Awards for ALL LEVELS (Grade 4 -8)Please ensure arrival before 9:00 AM

Lunch/Entertainment/Science Olympiad: 12:00-1:00 PM

Students are required to bring their own lunch as there are limited options for purchasing lunch at Holy Cross School cafeteria and nearby restaurants.

2nd round Judging Announcement 1:00-1:15 PM

STEM Activities- 3 groups rotation- 1:15-2:00; 2:00-2:45 and 2:45-3:30

Second Round Judging – 1:30 – 3:00 PM, if needed.

Public Viewing 3:30 -4:15 PM (All Students to be by their projects)

 Speeches, Award ceremony for all grades and Canada Wide Science Fair Winner Announcements

 4:15-5:15 PM (Holy Cross Parish-252 Dubuc Street

CWSF winners meeting and all students to take their projects with them.

The Canada Wide Science Fair (CWSF) will be in REGINA, SK from May 14 - 20. This showcases the top Grade 7 - 12 projects from across Canada.  Bison Regional Science Fair will select up to 3 students to represent the division!  

Please note any school from east of the Red River and South from Wilkes to the perimeter highway also welcome to join us at the Bison Regional Science Fair.
