We wanted to see how animals stay warm in cold conditions. First we tested our project on test tubes, then on our hands. We took room temperature water and put it in test tubes; we covered one tube with shortening and the other one we left alone. We took the temperature in each test tube every two minutes to see which one cooled the slowest. We tested our own hands with and without shortening.
