Spencer - I was born in Toronto, Ontario and lived there until I was four. Then my family moved to Prince Edward County. I attended Pincrest Public School in Bloomfield, Ontario until the end of grade six. I now attend a grade seven pre-IB programme which is hosted by Moira Secondary School in Belleville, Ontario. I currently live in Wellington, Ontario with my mother, father and sister. I have ridden and competed in various local equestrian events and I also enjoy vocal and guitar lessons. My other hobbies include reading and riding my Yamaha TTR90 dirt bike and playing soccer. I also am involved in theatre and have several Science fair and public speaking awards. Volunteering in my local community is very important to me and over the past four years I have held bake sales that have raised money for Camp Trillium. When I graduate from high school, I hope to pursue a career in medical or environmental research.

Abstract:The relationship between reported and recorded frequency and duration of instant messaging use and accuracy in identification of conventional spelling, punctuation, grammar and text speak errors in a brief reading passage by 61 grade seven or eight students was studied. Contrary to predictions, no statistically significant correlations were found between reported and recorded IM use and total number of errors identified.
