Abstract:This project studied the absorption of radiant energy on different colored surfaces placed over an asphalt surface. The findings were extrapolated to illustrate the potential impact on climate change achieved by changing the color of road surfaces. The lighter colored surfaces were found to lower the energy absorption rate and resulted in a reduced rise in temperature.
