Hi, my name is Arjun and I'm a grade nine student attending my first year at the Canada Wide Science Fair. I enjoy science and have participated in science fairs since grade five, winning either gold or silver medal at school and regional levels. I am excited to be at this event and be exposed to many facets of science and technology. I plan on taking my interest in science further to my university studies. Besides science, I love sports and athletics especially soccer, basketball, and cross-country running and is a part of both community club and school level teams. I also love to debate and my partner and I won a gold medal in Provincials and I came second best speaker! Between science, sports and debate time sure goes by!

Viability of Carbon Capture through Algae
Region:Calgary Youth
City:Calgary, AB
School:Webber Academy
Abstract:Greenhouse gases particularly CO2 emissions, are on the rise; the objective of my project is to assess environmental and economical viability of the current carbon capture technologies like injecting CO2 for Enhanced Oil Recovery. The project also investigates an economically-feasible alternate system within Canadian weather conditions that uses micro-algae to consume CO2, with an overall goal of clarifying the path forward, concerning carbon capture technologies.
