Elora is a grade seven student at Evergreen Heights Education Centre in Emsdale, Ontario. She loves theatre and has been in several local productions including The Sound of Music, The Wizard of Oz, Annie and Alice in Wonderland. Currently she has the lead in Sleeping Beauty. She plays violin and sings – winning several awards at the North Bay Kiwanis Music Festival. She enjoys figure skating and cross country skiing and helps out by teaching the younger kids. Elora's past science projects include making paper and observing how different materials break down when they are buried. Elora chose to do some computer programming for her science fair entry so she could find out what her dad does at work all day. She is very exited to be taking part in the Canada Wide Science Fair.

Fun with Physics: Computer Models
Region:East Parry Sound
City:Emsdale, ON
School:Evergreen Heights Education Centre
Abstract:Many computer games involve realistic physics, objects fall, bounce, and collide. Many of these games use an open source software module called Chipmunk to take care of calculating the position and interaction of objects in a virtual 2D world. My project uses Chipmunk to model the physics behind several simple machines.
