Division:Life Sciences
City:Toronto, ON
School:Marc Garneau Collegiate Institute
Abstract:When presented with a set, the mind is able to analyze it quantitatively and assign a value. Variables affecting the ability to perceive cardinality (the total of a set) are explored using a series of experiments. A unified theory explaining the process of mathematical perception is formulated from statistical analysis.
