Casting Call for Worms - A Sustainable Approach to Fertilizer
City:Lion's Head, ON
School:Bruce Peninsula District S.S. & E.S.
Abstract:Today there is more public awareness on the use of inorganic commercial fertilizers and their negative effects on the environment. This project tested different quantities of worm castings as a growing medium and the effect on plant growth. A natural organic alternative to a chemically based fertilizer was developed from worm castings and tested in four strengths against an inorganic commercial liquid fertilizer.
