My name is Navarre Hebb and I am in grade 12 at Northeast Kings Education Centre in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia. I keep myself busy with many of the activities that my school has to offer and am a very prominent figure in my school. I am on Students Council, in band, chess club and I started a school FM radio station. I was selected to attend Catapult Leadership Camp and started a Catapult support group at my school. I am an avid curler, curling with my school team, youth teams and competitive adult teams. I will be spending next year in Belgium on the Rotary Youth Exchange. I will be obtaining a degree in engineering upon my return.

The Little Tube that Breathes Iron
Region:Annapolis Valley
City:Billtown, NS
School:Northeast Kings Education Centre
Abstract:Geobacter can be easily extracted from riverbeds and the activity can be used for energy production. Geobacter use an unusual electron transfer system that involves the reduction of metals. This reduction can be used, along with other components of a basic electrochemical cell, to create a measurable flow of electrons. By linking many of these cells in series useful energy is produced.
