My name is Jarod Farrell and I am a grade 9 student. I have always been interested in video games and decided to use that interest to help other students learn about science. My project uses a popular video game character, Mario, to help people understand physics such as calculating acceleration due to gravity. I also wanted to examine how video game characters compare to humans in terms of physical ability. While many people may think video games are simple entertainment, it provides an interesting comparison for our own abilities and achievements.

Abstract:I decided that due to my interest in video games, I would do a project related to video games. I dedicated my project to see if Super Mario's jump height and running speed would be achievable by real human beings.
