I'm a grade 8 student and I'm dedicated to academics. I have recieved the Citizenship of the Year award in 2012 for my participation in my community, and have had the chance to participate in the regional spelling bee. After I graduate, I would like to become a Mathematical Physicist or a Computer Scientist. I am dedicated to every thing I do and once I set my mind to something, I finish it whether it takes me a day or a year. I enjoy volunteering in the community, helping young kids find values and build charactor, and I love camping. I got my inspiration for this project from my mom who is a 28 year diabetic. I would really like to enhance my project, using a wider range of machines, subjects, and companies. If I were to give advice to students who are interested in doing a project, I would tell them to come up with an idea, and just do it because you never know where it will get you.

Abstract:The purpose of this project is to determine the best prevention method of RFID skimming using household materials compared to commercial wallets. The hypothesis is that the wallet and aluminum foil would work best. Using a transponder and an antenna I measured the distance the transponder can be read at with and without shielding. The wallet worked best while the aluminum foil worked as well.
