Irene - My name is Irene Ni, and I am currently a Grade 8 student attending Mentor College in Mississauga, Ontario. This is my first time at CWSF, however I did participate in the Peel Region Science Fair last year along with several fellow students. I am thrilled to be visiting Montreal. My passion lies in preserving ecology and the environment, which led me to pursue my topic. I am an honor student, and involved in various extracurriculars such as environment club and cross country skiing. I also play the alto saxophone. Outside of school, I enjoy fencing, fishkeeping and PC gaming.

In Love with the Coco
Ville:Mississauga, ON
École:Mentor College
Sommaire:Our innovation explores a novel method of water decontamination by employing cacao husks and sapwood as adsorbent. Water pollution is devastating to millions, and those impacted most are typically inhabitants of countries producing cacao. Our aim is to alleviate this issue while also reducing the disposal problem cacao rinds, an agricultural byproduct, pose.
