Elisa is 13 years old and in grade 8 at Academie Ste Cecile International School in Windsor. She enjoys drawing and animation and wants to be a cartoonist, or a computer engineer when she grows up. She enjoys swimming and tennis, and can play alto sax and violin. She lives on the Detroit River, which is where her inspiration for this project began. Elisa is a very quirky person, who goes by a quote from her English/art teacher, “Have your 20 seconds of insanity.” Her favourite subjects are art and computers. She loves computers because she finds their inner-workings and how they operate fascinating. Her favourite video games are Pokémon Moon and Majora’s Mask (3Ds). Her favourite show is Steven Universe.

Pollution Evolution Solution
Ville:Windsor, ON
École:Academie Ste. Cecile International
Sommaire:“Pollution Evolution Solution” is an agent-based simulation of a river ecosystem to demonstrate the long-term effects of pollution on plants, fish, and predators over multiple generations. This project demonstrates that even after the pollution is in the water, the ecosystem is forever changed and can result in evolution and extinction, especially in predators.
