Different Growth Rates in Young-of-the-Year Mountain Whitefish in Southern Alberta
Division:Engineering & Computing Sciences
City:Lethbridge, AB
School:Winston Churchill High School
Abstract:Fork lengths of young-of-the-year mountain whitefish from the same population, but from three different sites, in southern Alberta were compared. No statistical difference was expected. A significant difference was found with fork lengths positively related to average weekly water temperature. This suggests that environmental factors affected the rate of growth.
