My name is Jenae Agecoutay. I am a grade 8 student. I enjoy playing volleyball & golfing. My hobby's and interests include beading, quill work, sewing & dancing powwow. I won the Traditional Knowledge award at FNUC science fair. The inspiration for my project came from my interest in my First Nations culture. I am leaving my options open for my future career path. I encourage other students to take on new experiences and to learn new things by being open to new possibilities.

The Strength and Stability of a Willow Back Rest
Region:Saskatchewan First Nations
City:Balcarres, SK
School:Peepeekeesis Pesakastew School
Abstract:First Nations people used a variety of items in the Tipi, one of which was the Willow Backrest. As a First Nation student I wanted to include culture and science in my project and explore the idea that i could create a Willow Backrest that i would be able to test in a scientific way.
