My name is Ally Churko and I am 15 years old. I enjoy reading, and am involved in my local choir, dance group, and drama club. This year I did a project on epigenetics. In years to come I would like to look at how epigenetic change may be linked to illnesses, such as anti-NMDA receptor autoimmune encephalitis. My advice to others wanting to do a science fair project would be to make sure you find a topic you are passionate about, because that will drive you to put the necessary work into your project.

Effect of Epigenetics on Human Emotions
Region:Prairie Valley
City:Milestone, SK
School:Milestone School
Abstract:My study focuses on identifying how emotions and mental health are affected by chemical processes which alter the way in which our genes are expressed. I accomplished this by researching scientific papers and publications. This is an important topic because it explains why we feel certain emotions on a genetic level, and how health science may help those affected by negative mental health issues.
