My name is Hayley Courtney Lyons. I am a grade 8 student at Red Deer Lake School. I played on the junior girl’s basketball team this year. I also played community basketball for Okotoks. I played as a mixed doubles team on the grade 8 badminton team. I am in honours with distinction, which means I have a 90% or above average in all my subjects. I have been dancing jazz for 5 years and playing community soccer for 6 years. I enjoy drawing and designing clothes. When I grow up I want to be an interior designer or a fashion designer. I received the citizenship award and 2 basketball awards at last year’s awards night. I also received an award for honours with distinction. Abstract:Benford’s Law states that more numbers in the world start with the digit 1 than the digit 2, and more with the digit 2 than with the digit 3, and so on. This project innovatively used Benford’s Law as a test for randomness and concluded that Pick 3 lottery is a totally random, computer random number generator, because it did not follow Benford’s Law.
