My name is Haroun Zayed. I moved to Mississauga Ontario from Jordan in 2001 where I skipped grade 3. In Mississauga I finished ESL in 2 months. I finished grade 4, 5, and 2/3ds of grade 6 before I moved to Corner Brook NL in 2004. There I was chosen captain of the school soccer team where I led them to gold. After finishing grade 6 I moved to Goose Bay NL in 2004. There I achieved 7 awards for the highest academic student in grade 7, I also was part of 2 plays in the regional music festival. Then I moved back to Corner Brook in 2005 where I got a chance to go to CWSF. I was vice president of the student council for about 2 years, and I got my Black Belt in Taekwondo. Then ½ way through grade 9 I moved to Ottawa, Ontario where I got enrolled into the International Bachelor Program. Now I get another chance to go to the CWSF in Turo. In all my years I achieved high standards of academics in 6 different schools. I enjoy playing Taekwondo, soccer, reading, and doing many social activities at school.

Solutes Affect the Time and Temperature at Which Liquids Freeze
Division:International / None
City:Ottawa, ON
School:Colonel By S.S.
Abstract:This project studied the effectiveness of solutes on the time and temperature at which liquids freeze. This was done by freezing soda with and without gas, and freezing water with and without salt and checking their time and temperature every 3 and half minutes. Liquids freezing times and temperature differed when freezing with gas, without gas, and with salt because of freezing point depression.
