Abstract:The present study was designed to evaluate antifungal and antibacterial effects of cinnamon leaf extract, allicin and raw garlic against Penicillium notatum, Pseudomonas fluorescens, and Staphylococcus saprophyticus. The antimicrobial activity was examined by the presence of a zone of inhibition on agar plates. Cinnamon showed excellent inhibitory activity against all microorganisms, allicin exhibited slight inhibitory activity and garlic showed strong inhibition against Staphylococcus saprophyticus.
