Brain Drain
Division:Life Sciences
Abstract:For this experiment, I investigated the mechanics of how a hockey helmet absorbs an impact force and how it protects the head. Understanding the use of air bags in vehicles, I hypothesized that a 200mL Kool-Aid Jammer representing an air bag would improve the absorption quality. I designed 2 apparatuses, one to impact the media and one to measure the impact force.
