Abstract:Due to the rapidly growing aquaponics industry claiming to replace hydroponics, we conducted an experiment to illustrate effectiveness and determine whether this method is beneficial/affordable in the long run for commercial/small scale farming. We aimed to: Develop a more compact aquaponic set-up ; observe if/how fish fertilizer is essential to aquaponics; apply knowledge of the nitrogen cycle to develop aquaponics; and improve aquaponic farming.
