My name is Lucas Hilden, I am a grade 8 student from West Hants Middle School. I was born in Oshawa, Ontario but I grew up in Falmouth, Nova Scotia. My favorite thing to do outside of school is to play and compete in hockey and baseball. In my house, I live with my parents and my younger sister, Addison. I also have 2 cats and a dog. I was inspired to do this project by my grandfather. He has Alzheimer’s and often has trouble recognizing faces. I felt that if I was him or any of the other people who have this problem I would not like that. This is why I decided to create my device. If anyone is thinking about doing a science fair project, I would definitely say do it. There are so many great things to go along with your project, learning a lot of new things for your own project and others.

Abstract:There is a disease called prosopagnosia or otherwise known as facial blindness. Other disease's like Alzheimer's and Dementia have the same type of facial recognition issues as prosopagnosia. In my project, I am creating a revolutionary device that uses facial recognition to be the first ever aid for all of the people with problems recognizing faces.
