My name is Sabrina Mogus and I am a 12 year old grade 7 honours student. I am passionate about science and engineering and I would love to pursue a career as a scientist that is involved in helping our environment. When I am not attempting science experiments, I enjoy playing soccer, basketball, participating in track and field. I am a member of a local Girl Guides unit. Since I was 7 years old I have been participating in shoreline cleanups (this is where I found my interest for my science fair project). During the summer I grow veggies and fruits in my backyard where I donate them to a local mission for their food program. At school I am a member of our student leadership team and have been chosen to represent our school in the math and science Olympics. Outside of school I am part of a local volunteering group where I participate in community events. Like Albert Einstein said “Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new”. This is a quote that I honor because I believe that mistakes and trying new things is what leads you to success.

Sommaire:The Microfibre Trapper is a revolutionary device developed to combat the single largest plastic pollution problem worldwide. TMT traps harmful synthetic fibres in laundry wastewater, preventing fibres from entering waterways, absorbing bacteria and toxins, and bioaccumulating through consumption by aquatic wildlife. At less than 10 dollars to fabricate, TMT is a safe and efficient method of removing over 140,000 kilograms of harmful microfibres annually.
