Biography
I live on a small hobby farm in beautiful Grey County, Ontario with my family which includes a large Newfoundland dog. At school I an in the grade 8 French Immersion and the T.R.A.I.L. (gifted) programs. This year I am student council co-president. Also I enjoy participating in the school jazz and concert bands (bass clarinet), the school play (this year I was the Sheriff of Nottingham), ENVIROTHON and year book. I have won awards in public speaking in English and French. Each year since grade 4 I have won a medal at our regional science fair and this is my second time to the Canada-Wide Science Fair. For fun I listen to a variety of music, I am known for my eclectic tastes. Also I like to garden, but not weed. People note my wry sense of humour. In the future I hope to do scientific research of either a medical or environmental nature.

Abstract:This project explored the level of knowledge possessed by the average consumer regarding dietary fats, cholesterol and current nutrition labelling. It was extremely evident from the results of 275 surveys that consumers desire and need a star rating system, such as the one developed in my 2006 project, in addition to current nutrition labelling. An internet poll was used to gather input from food manufacturers.
