Biographies
Chantal - My name is Chantal Sheaves and I am 15 years old. I was born February 10th, 1993. I live with my mom, my dad, my younger sister & my dog, Teddy. I am originally from Port aux Basques, Newfoundland, but I moved when I was younger. I go to Sackville Heights Junior High & I am in french immersion. I play tier 1 soccer which is usually what my daily life consists of (I love sports!) & I also love to hangout with friends. I peer-tutor each Wednesday after school, and I am also involved in after school sports teams and clubs. When I am older I plan to attend either Saint Mary's, Dalhousie, or MUNN. I would love to be a social worker or a teacher, either way I would love to be able to help people. That's all about me :)
Leah - Hi! My name is Leah Smith and I grew up in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. I live with both parents and have one younger brother, with whom I have taken Karate lessons with. I like to read, chat with friends and spend time outdoors. My partner Chantal Sheaves and I worked hard on our project and won first prize in our school science fair at Sackville Heights Junior High. We then advanced to regionals and won awards for Best Display and Best Engineering Project. Now we are advancing to Nationals and belong to Team Nova Scotia! When I graduate from High School, I plan to go to the Atlantic Veterinary College in Prince Edward Island. I love animals and would like to help ones in need by becoming a Veterinarian.

Life or Death! Will the snowmobile float?
Division:Health Sciences / None
Category:Intermediate
Region:Halifax
City:Sackville, NS, NS, Lower Sackville, NS
School:Sackville Heights Junior High School
Abstract:Our goal was to create a snowmobile with a self-inflating airbag attached underneath. It would run underneath the footboards and once the snowmobile is under at least 10 centimeters of water, it would inflate; causing the snowmobile to float. This invention can be used in deadly situations; when the ice they are driving on cracks for example.
