| My name is Gordon Minaker, I am grade 12 student attending Mount Boucherie Secondary School in Kelowna, BC. I am an avid cyclist and runner who loves to play sports. I have competed on Canada's National Mountain Running Team, and am currently on a high performance cycling team in the Central Okanagan. I enjoy volunteering within my community at the local hospital and with St. John's Ambulance. I was recently licensed under the BC provincial as an Emergency Medical Responder. In 2010, I won the 'Scholastic Athlete of the Year Award,' and hope to continue with sports as I enter my post-secondary education. I plan to attend university and hopefully enter medical school to become a doctor. |

Surviving Out-of-Hospital Cardiac Arrest

This study shows that many people trained in CPR have low confidence and misconceptions that may cause hesitation to perform CPR. This suggests that public education is needed to improve the confidence and ability of members of the public to manage a cardiac arrest effectively. |
