| My name is Maliki Kattegatsiak and I live in one of the oldest and smallest communities in Nunavut on the west coast of Hudson Bay in the Arctic. Yes, it is cold, Polar Bears wonder into town regularly (but I feel safe – my Dad is the Conservation Officer), and I have built an iglu (igloo) before. I love to drive snowmobile fast in the winter and ATV’s in summer. I am interested in helping Teachers in my community teach students about substances that students may be using. I conducted a survey of all students in grade 7 to 12 to find out at what age they started using substances and therefore at what age teachers should deliver educational programs about substances. |
