| Hi, I’m Katelyn Wang, a 9th grade student attending Richmond Hill High School. This year, I was excited to participate in the many clubs offered at school. As part of this enrichment, I am looking forward to spending a week in Nashville, Tennessee, as part of the Ontario delegation to compete in the International Career Development Conference (DECA). In 2013, I joined ME to WE. The experience was inspiring and personally rewarding. Being in North America, and residing in a country with the highest standard of living, we often take for granted the abundance and richness around us. I truly believe that our purpose extends beyond ourselves, but more importantly, it is to help and give back to those who need our assistance. In particular, the Rafiki bracelets, sponsored by ME to WE, was a pivotal inspiration to my science project this year. It is my sincere hope to provide developing nations with footwear to protect billions of people suffering from unnecessary foot diseases, while helping to alleviate the ever-increasing landfill problem. |

Landfill Reduction by Reusing Polyethylene
