Biographie
Victor Puvanendran is a 16-year-old student from A.B. Lucas. He has been an active member of his school community participating in many clubs including: DECA, Model UN, Science Olympics, Math Contests, Sanofi Aventis, Science Fair, Track Team, and Tennis Team. To help his community, Victor enjoys volunteering at Parkwood Hospital. He helps veterans read, play Bingo, and organize events. Victor is also involved with the St. Vincent de Paul; they visit shelters, prepare meals, and hold BBQ events for homeless. Some awards Victor is proud include his 4th place finish at OFSAA in tennis and his summer scholarship to Western’s engineering academy. Pursuing his interest in science, Victor entered a university laboratory. Dr. Rieder (supervisor) and other members of the lab helped Victor shape his future plans in medical science and advance his knowledge in research. The idea of Victor’s project came when he was reading papers and discussed them with his mentor, Dr. Rieder. The process of generating project ideas was long; in the end it was important for him to research topics that were of interest to him. In the future Victor hopes to test other anthracyclines and compare them to the results of his current study.

Sommaire:Personally I have had a lot of fun learning and working on this project. I really appreciate all the help I received throughout the project. The process to get to this stage has been incredibly difficult and exhausting. However, I am extremely pleased with the results I have obtained. I am looking forward to continuing research at the lab to further my studies.
