Biography
I am a grade 8 student at École William McDonald Middle School. I love sports, especially badminton and soccer. I have also been fascinated by the science of the mind and behavior, since grade 5. From then on, my passion has only grown. I constantly get thought-provoking questions while I sleep, so I keep a notepad and pen next to my bed, and one of the questions that popped in my mind, was the one that I picked for my project. I would love to try my experiment on adults, and compare the results to the adolescent data that I have, to discover if age can really play a role in the memory of faces. I have learned many mind-blowing facts, but also had a blast while doing this project. Being able to participate in the CWSF 2017 and sharing what I’ve learned and discovered, will truly be a life-changing experience, and I am extremely grateful and stoked. I believe that if someone is to choose a topic, they must have a real interest in it. In the end, they will understand that it was worth it, and they will be proud of what they have accomplished.

Abstract:In this project, I showed students three pictures of three different people. Using a two-part quiz that I created (written and visual quiz), I tested their ability to memorize facial traits on day 1, 7 and 14. I then analysed, and compared all the data, and compared the girls and boys’ results to find out which gender could better remember facial traits and features.
