Biography
Inspiration for my project came from my science teacher who wanted to use vermicompost as a way to put the schools food waste into a enriching compost for a garden. For further investigations I would like to inquire for grocery stores to use composting as an effective way to make use of their food waste and lessen their soil cultivation plants. Any advice I could give to other students about doing a project would be to simply ask good questions. My origional question was "will organic or processed food compost be better?", which just is barely a question at all. Ask a question you really don't know the answer too, and make discoveries.

Quality of different soils and composts through soil testing
Challenge:Environment
Category:Intermediate
Region:Eastern Newfoundland
City:St John's, NL
School:Bishops College
Abstract:Originally, the project consisted of two different vermicomposts being compared through biochemical and analytic chemical testing which grew to the comparison of six soils and fertilizers of all kinds being compared through six different tests. This project highlights how we can further ourselves in agriculture, soil cultivation, and make use of our waste in the most beneficial way to our planet.
