Biographie
My name is Nisarg Dave, and I am a Grade 11 student from Gonzaga High School in St. John’s Newfoundland. My interest in the science stems comes from my strong belief that knowledge is power. In school, I have taken and enjoy advanced Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Math courses. My studies in science have motivated my interests in discovering the field of Biochemistry, Pharmacy and Medicine. I hope to pursue a career in this field to further my knowledge and understanding of health sciences. I always find interest in nutrition and functional food health effects on human beings. Search for sources of Omega-3 in human diet has generated interest in mine and motivated me to pursue research in field of nutraceuticals, biotechnology and utilization of omega-3 rich salmon waste resources. In 2016, I was honored by science fair silver medal and best in chemistry, biochemisrty, ocean science, SHAD Innovation awards. Outside of my stem activity’s, I also hold community service as a vital activity. I volunteer with local soccer club, fundraisers, Hindu temple and school events.

Sommaire:Atlantic salmon is a tent pole product for the burgeoning aquaculture industry in the Newfoundland and Canada. Processing methods currently being employed remove the fillet from the salmon and discard the rest as waste or for low-value uses (e.g compost, mink feed).
