Biographie
I'm a person of dedication, who shows devotion for each of my many passions. In school, I've explored and developed my interest in science, resulting in being awarded the Excellence In Science medal for 3 consecutive years, in addition to the award for the highest overall average in grade 9, but my passion to excel is not limited to academics. I've played piano since a very young age and love playing guitar in my free time. I'm also a member of our school concert band as a tenor saxophonist, who have recently performed in Disney and made it to Nationals the past 2 years. In addition, I've been a hockey goalie for 7 years, and finished off this season with a championship win. My passion for saving lives stems from my keen interest in life guarding. I completed my Bronze Cross by 12, then commenced volunteering as an assistant instructor, where I've now dedicated 4 years towards teaching kids to swim, and also continued training with courses such as AWSI and WSI. With my current project, my love for technology and my hope to make a difference in the lives of others has merged to protect swimmers from medical emergencies.

Floating an Idea - Preventing Mysterious Drownings in Experienced Swimmers
Défi:Innovation
Catégorie:Intermédiaire
Région:Ottawa
Ville:Ottawa, ON
École:St. Francis Xavier High School
Sommaire:Medical emergencies, often sudden and incapacitating, may explain a large portion of mysterious drownings among competent swimmers. My product fills a void for those who do not wish to wear a traditional life jacket, by giving them the best chance of survival. It automatically detects incapacitating situations, ensures timely rescues by bringing victims to the surface, and helps alert bystanders to respond to the scene.
