Biography
Hello my name is Kendra im in grade 7 and im 13 years old at Superior Heights in Sault Ste. Marie ON. I am an A+ student in all subjects and enjoy school and learning. I am involved with youth bowling, since the age of 3, I was a part of my schools volleyball team and volunteered for the orientation for the grade 6 students coming next year. I have won awards for bowling and travelled for tournaments, and hope to further my community involvement as I progress. In the future I would like to go to University to study Paleontology. My inspiration for the project started when wanting to test a pharmaceutical against cancer. When I realized that was to difficult and toxic, I decided to ask about chaga, and how it is known to have anti-microbial effects. I chose to research it further to see what chagas benefits. Further investigation of chaga would research different bacteria and agar seeking difference in results. Advice for students would be to use scholarly articles, give yourself lots of time to work on it, follow the outline exactly, understand your research and prepare to work hard.

Abstract:Abstract The purpose of this scientific experiment was to determine if the chaga fungus had anti-microbial effects on selected types of bacteria found in humans. Growth of bacteria, gram staining techniques in laboratory environment and guidance of Leslie Dafoe and outcome effects could be more clearly understood as the testing and research progressed over a three month period.
