Biographie
Kaleem loves school. He enjoys English and Science classes the most. Kaleem plays the piano, lives to swim, and enjoys skiing in his spare time. He plays competitive soccer at school and his team won the CISAA championship games. Kaleem plays house league hockey and his team were finalists in the City of Vaughan championships. Kaleem speaks fluent English and Arabic and is in the Enriched French program at his school. Last year, Kaleem won 1st place in the Oral Communication competition in his class and school and was placed 3rd in the Area Competition for the York Region District School Board. Recently, Kaleem participated in a Mathletes Competition representing his school and his team placed 4th among 24 teams in the Toronto Area. Kaleem also loves drama and recently played the role of “Oberon” in his school play A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Kaleem spends his weekends going on outings, playing video games, enjoying good food, especially seafood, and completing his continuous flood of homework.

Sommaire:This project studied the relationship between taste sensitivity for sweetness, sourness, and saltiness (dominant flavours in junk food) and Body Mass Index (BMI) percentile in a sample of 12 year old boys in a Toronto school. Boys with high BMI (≥ 85th percentile) reported low sensitivity to sweet, salty, and sour flavours. Boys with low BMI (≤ 45th percentile) reported high sensitivity to these flavours.
